The house

One house, four lives.

  1. 1911

    Built as a summer house

A San Francisco family built it to escape the fog. Redwood frame, a porch that wraps two sides, and the two oaks that were already old.

  2. 1962

    A boarding house for teachers

Split into nine rooms with a shared kitchen. Some of the door numbers are the ones we still use.

  3. 2004

    Bought, stripped back, reopened

Nora's parents bought it with the roof failing. Three years of work, then seven rooms and breakfast for twelve.

  4. 2019

The garden rooms and the cottage

Four Garden Rooms along the path, the Pool Cottage by the water, and the long table for sixteen. Twelve rooms, as it stands today.
