Room 04 of six / one of these

Pool Cottage.

The only room not in the main house. A white cottage by the water with a king bed, a daybed, a kitchenette, a covered porch, and the one door at On Point House a dog can walk through.

What is in it

Your own gate, your own kettle, your own dog.

The cottage was the pool house until 2019, when Nora rebuilt it as a room. It stands on its own at the far end of the garden with a gate onto the pool deck and a second gate onto the side street, so you can come and go without passing the desk. A covered porch runs the front with two chairs and a table for breakfast.

Inside is one big room with a king bed at one end and a daybed under the window at the other, which makes it the only room that sleeps three. The kitchenette has a two ring hob, a half fridge, a sink, plates for four and a decent knife. No oven. The bathroom has a walk in shower with a bench and a window onto the lavender.

The pool is shared with the house from seven in the morning until nine at night. After nine it is lit, quiet, and effectively yours. Please keep it that way for the Garden Rooms next door.

Dogs

The rules are short because they work.

The Pool Cottage is the only room where dogs stay. The fee is $40 for the stay, not per night, and it covers a deep clean after you leave. There are two bowls, a towel by the door, and a dog bed in the wardrobe. Sam leaves a bag of treats from the pet shop downtown.

  • Dogs are welcome in the cottage, on the cottage porch, and in the garden on a leash.
  • Dogs do not come into the main house, the dining room, or the pool. The Garden Room guests did not sign up for a wet dog at breakfast.
  • If your dog is alone in the cottage, leave the desk your cell number. If there is barking we text you, we do not go in.
  • The creek trail fifteen minutes away is dog friendly and Priya has the map.

Two dogs are fine. Three is a conversation. Cats have stayed. A parrot stayed once, and we are still finding seeds.

The rate

$520 in winter, $680 in summer.
