Room 01 of six / four of these

Garden Room.

Four identical rooms along the gravel path, each with a door onto the lavender. A queen bed, a rain shower, 310 square feet, and the quietest nights in the house.

What is in it

A door of your own onto the garden.

The Garden Rooms were added in 2019 along the path between the main house and the pool. They sit low, under the olives, so the light is soft and the sound is mostly bees. Each has a small gravel terrace with two chairs where breakfast can be brought if you ask the night before.

Inside, a queen bed with an oak headboard, linen sheets, two reading lamps, a kettle and a desk the size of a laptop. The bathroom has a rain shower, cream tile, and a window that opens onto rosemary. There is no tub in these rooms. If you want one, look at the Oak Suite or the Attic Loft.

Rooms 7 and 8 are furthest from the kitchen door and the quietest after dark. Rooms 5 and 6 are closest to it, which matters at 7:30 when the bread comes out.

Who it suits

Light sleepers, early swimmers, and people who like a door.

This is the room we suggest to anyone who says the word quiet in their first email. No one walks past your window. No one is above you. The pool is forty steps away, so a seven o'clock swim and back to bed with coffee is the usual Garden Room morning.

It is also the easiest room to get into. Step free from the gravel parking, a wide door, a shower with a bench and a hand rail. Not a certified accessible room, and we would rather tell you exactly what is there than use the label. Call the desk and Priya will walk the path with a tape measure for you.

It is not the room for a long stay with lots of luggage. The wardrobe is small. For a week or more, the Oak Suite has a sitting room and more hanging space.

The rate

$280 in winter, $360 in summer.
